I can understand we are all hecticly busy these days but "Got it, thanks a lot" would be nice enough as an answer. So, I thought it might be fair to answer the very special message we got yesterday. Others have already done it, while I didn't. So here I am and here's my answer. My very personal answer to ... Richard Armitage's message. (He sent it to all his fans through Annette's site) . Ready for a laugh?

Dear All,
I wanted to post a message to say a huge thank you for your generosity of donations to the Christchurch fundraiser on 22nd May, I gather there was a considerable contribution from members of our little community, which is gratefully received to help a rather larger and damaged community 'rise up' get back on its feet. I am so grateful and proud to see such support from so far away, you really are hugely reliable when it comes to those in need. Thank you. I hope our little teaser want too much of a tease, it is so difficult to give anything away, of the movie we are making but we had to do something; I have resisted signing anything 'Hobbity', until the film is finished (just a little bit superstitious) but I was very proud to add my name to the book for Christchurch.
you're just truly welcome! What wouldn't your devoted admirers do hoping for a sign of recognition and gratitude from you? They are your supportive community, aren't they? Just send a tiny sign and they are ready to sacrifice, if not their own lives, a small (or even a big) sum of money to a just cause! You know, they have been clinging to any small piece of news from that distant corner of the southern half of the world where you are, hoping to hear from you day after day for months. Could they avoid responding to the shout out about a great charity event with you involved? Of course not. You can be proud of them and even forgive them for their being sometimes an overwhelming presence in your life.
You didn't hope to get rid of them all, escaping so far, in such an unreachable, confined, protected place as Hobbitland, did you ? You know you can't! They are the most indefatigable web sleuths. Sooner or later you'd be found!
Back to charity, I'm glad you were satisfied of what the love for you brought to Christchurch and the entire project.
May I be honest? I didn't swoon at seeing you and the rest of the dwarf company disguised as garden gnomes but, I must admit, you all had good sense of humour and humbleness enough to play that game! Did beautiful Snow White join you in the end? You'd have deserved that, at least!
By the way, there's a bit of your message I quite didn't catch. It's when you say "I have resisted signing anything 'Hobbity', until the film is finished (just a little bit superstitious) ..." What is it you are afraid of? Are you really superstitious? I've read about people in the showbiz and their crazy superstitious rituals (same happens to many sports men and women) but I hoped you were immune! What can we do to help? Can “ Fingers crossed for you and your Hobbity life until the film is finished” help?
I had a belated request from a certain Wizard about some cello playing, now as a music lover, and particularly that instrument, I can see how that might be a real possibility and perhaps a joy to hear...if Yo Yo Ma were asked. However, raising money for charity by simulating the sound of a strangled cat whose claws are clinging onto a chalkboard for dear life, whilst someone in another room tries to tune a radio in, would result in a charity deficit, with demands for refunds and compensation to boot. So I may have to decline for now, until I have had time to practice a bit more.
Well, I bet if you accepted Calexora's (that's the name of the enterprising fan) challenge, and played even only three minutes on your cello in order to raise money, your devotees would be so enthusiastic at seeing you sitting and embracing your instrument, so mesmerized at the sight of you and of your long, perfect hands at work on the bow that they would be convinced the high pitched sounds coming out of the strings were part of a modern twelve tone score and would go on staring at you in admiration. Yo Yo Who? I’m sure that, if the two of you played in two different halls nearby at the same time, you'd win the battle of the sold out tickets!
Then, honestly, I'm pretty sure you are not that bad at playing the cello. You are only - and as usual - too humble!
With regards for requests for social media, blogs tweets etc. I have always worried that I will reveal something about the project I am working on that I am not allowed to, added to the fact that I am just about up to e mailing and little more, I may have to abstain for now.
So were are about to depart for our short hiatus and I will be sorry to say farewell to Wellington and NZ, one of the most exciting places I have been lucky enough to live and work, not just a magnificent landscape but a warm, friendly, generous and really cool community, which has welcomed us with open arms. Seriously this place has to go to the top of the Bucket List.
No facebook, twitter, blogs for you? Just e-mail messages from time to time? That's not a problem. The social media are so overcrowded of your fans that, of course, that is the only way you can protect your privacy. If only you dared peep out somewhere on the web, you'd be overwhelmed of love, replies, comments, requirements, adoring messages which might be really embarassing and very distracting. I sympathize with you. I understand you completely! You must focus on your work and on your present and future career. Don't let our selfish begging move you! Hold on! ( GOSH! what am I saying???)
This long abstinence will fortify us and we will be stronger, more and more willing to follow you in your future adventures! Think many of us are even ready to go and see Captain America in a theatre for 5 minutes of you! (Me too? Mmm… Trying to resist the temptation and playing the snobbish. Let's see when the day comes ...)
So, you are about to depart on a short hiatus and a bit sad to leave beautiful NZ. Really? I imagined you held captive by wicked PJ, desperately longing for home, some rest and being something different from a hairy dwarf (yeah, a leader , but a dwarf, too tight a "container" for you)! Ok. This means I still have to discover a lot about you!
What I'm sure of is that you have found people ready to welcome you with open arms. Impossible not to do it. You are such a special human being, such a unique humble gentleman, a generous hardworking man that ... anybody would be happy to welcome you. What about handsome, gorgeous, sexy, attractive, terribly good-looking and similar? Enough. No, it is not that as a dwarf you've lost your charms, only... aren't you fed-up of all the swooning around you?
Much Love
RA
Just thank you, Mr A., for being exactly as you are and make all of us feel part a very special lot.
Yours
MG

LOL at your comments MG, specially "they would be convinced the high pitched sounds coming out of the strings were part of a modern twelve tone score and would go on staring at you in admiration." (oh, I'm sure you meant 'we would be convinced...')
I haven't said it out loud but I probably will go to watch CA, hope you join the club and I bet is something you can go watch with Antonio or/and your son.
OML :)
*Who is crossing all her fingers for RA*
@OneMoreLurker
We...They ... you know I suffer of a certain form of schizofrenia when it comes to RA ;-)
Antonio actually asked me to go and see Captain America together on July 27th (that's the date of the release in Italy) but, what will I do for the rest of the film after the expected and longed for 5 minutes? I'll be there wishing to rewind! :O
Jokes apart... fingers and toes crossed for RA!
Great post MG! I had quite a few chuckles. I agree with your Yo Yo Who comments. You are right, I would pay big time just to gaze at him stroking that instrument, whether any sounds came out or not. Besides we would be squeeing so loudly it wouldn't matter what he played! (The poor dear! -- All that practise for nothing!)
P.S. I love your new banner!
Really fun post Maria! LOL Think RA, with his great sense of humour, would love it too!
I am one of his fans ready to go and see him in a 3D IMAX Theatre, I'm actually counting the days!!!
I'm hoping to behave myself and resist from screaming LOL
Fingers and toes crossed for RA too!!
I just loved your response. I have the same big grin over it that I had over his email yesterday. I totally concur with everything you said.
And I'm not only willing to go see Captain America in IMAX once, I think I'll end up there a few times (at least until I can get it on DVD or something...) I suspect you won't be able to resist....if nothing else, you'll read about all the communal gushing coming from the RA fan world and you'll have to see for yourself if it was all worth it. :) Come on Maria - Resistance is futile when it comes to Mr. A :D
You know, I just had a thought...big blockbusters like that one often play on several screens with about 30min start time difference in the same cinema here...I could rove from movie screen to movie screen - there to just watch until Heinz Kruger gets it... mmm, maybe worth the possibility of being caught by the scary teenage movie 'security' guards :)
@Phylly3
Glad you like my RA-ndom Thoughts and my new "look" here at Fly High! I'd love to be as good as some of our common acquaintances at graphics but, unfortunately, I'm not. Not at all. So this is a very simple picture I've found online but it's rather well matched with the title of my blog, isn't it?
@Summer & Calexora
Thanks for your enthusiasm! I'm sure, though CA may not be exactly our cup of tea, most of us are there counting down to the release day. I'm no exception. I just like to play the snob. (ssshh! don't tell hubby and sons!)
Come on, MG, you know you'll go and see CA as soon as it comes to our theatres. You don't need to hide behind your hubby and sons: instead, you should be proud to be such a dedicated RA fan... as if this post wasn't a clear evidence of it ;-)
xx K/V
@K/V
This one? Only this post? What about the other one hundred thirteen? :P
What a great post, Maria Grazia! So funny! Loved it. And I think Richard will love it too.
"What about handsome, gorgeous, sexy, attractive, terribly good-looking and similar? Enough." -- LOL! But it's true. What else can we do? ;)
@PoliCBA
You're right. What else can we do? ;-)
Thanks a lot for dropping by and commenting!
Love your response
i also doubt we would care what his cello playing soundd. His long legs around the cello and his fingers on the bow are things we dream of.
I just adore our humble hero.
@KandyM
Rare example of a lovely, humble hero. Thanks for your comment!
"your devotees would be so enthusiastic at seeing you sitting and embracing your instrument, so mesmerized at the sight of you and of your long, perfect hands at work on the bow that they would be convinced the high pitched sounds coming out of the strings were part of a modern twelve tone score and would go on staring at you in admiration." LOL: - Love this one. Fantastic letter - I wish he got it (or maybe he does;-))
@alfie
Thank you, Alphie. I actually don't think Richard is left so much spare time to waste it reading my silly answer.
I'm just glad so many of you liked it and share my thoughts.
The bit you quote in your comment is just inspired to Richard's humouristic description of himself playing the cello. So, kudos to him, also for that.
He is DA MAN! :)
