HAPPY RELEASE DAY TO THE SONGS OF YOU AND ME BY MYLISSA DEMEYERE + GIVEAWAY

Happy Release Day to The Songs of You and Me by Mylissa Demeyere! To celebrate the release of this great book we're giving away $50!
The Songs of You and Me by Mylissa Demeyere
The Songs of You and Me by Mylissa Demeyere
Jane Hartford fell head over heels for Jackson at the tender age of fifteen. She spent most of high school pining for him, until she realized he wasn’t going to see her as anything more than his baby sister’s best friend. Now she finds herself single with a daughter, a broken heart, and songs that remind her of a long lost love.
Jackson Wright is a man living with regret. His biggest one, never acting on his feelings for Jane. When he returns to Bellebrook, the town they grew up in, he literally runs into her and his world gets tossed upside down and sideways.
This time, Jackson isn’t willing to give up. With a meddling sister eager to push both of them together, he believes things might actually work out. That is, if they can overcome the heavy baggage they both carry. Follow Jackson and Jane as they revisit their past, figuring out what went wrong so long ago.
Will they learn they have the power to make things right in the present?

CHASING THE SUN BLOG TOUR - KATY COLINS: TRAVEL PACKING HACKS
Who’s Katy Colins?
A successful travel blogger and published writer, of course.
But she is especially a very brave woman who has succeeded in turning a devastating experience
into a wake-up call. We all have much to learn from her. This is why I’m very
happy to have the chance to introduce her to you all on occasion of the
publishing of her fourth book, Chasing the Sun.
What’s her story?
After
Katy’s wedding was called off in 2010, she made the life-changing decision to
travel solo around South East Asia, leaving behind her successful career and
selling everything that wouldn’t fit into a backpack. As she travelled, Katy
finally put her adventures and thoughts into words and secured a six book deal
with Harper Collins.
Chasing the Sun is Katy’s fourth novel
featuring the inimitable Georgia Green and the perfect beach read for this
summer!

GIORGIA HILL, AUTHOR OF "WHILE I WAS WAITING": WHAT COMES FIRST? THE STORY OR THE RESEARCH?
Tricky – in so
many ways. If you write you have to do some, even if you’re following the
well-worn adage, ‘write what you know.’ If you write fiction with any kind of
historical content, then you have to
do some.
What comes first?
The story, or the research?
In my case, it’s
the story.
Most of the time.
I write a very
basic, very rough first draft and
then research what I need to make it live - to make it feel authentic. I was asked
recently at a writers’ event how I made my writing feel of the period it’s set in. I couldn’t really reply. I suspect
the questioner wanted an easy solution, or a pat answer. Sadly, it involves a
lot of reading, a lot of leg-work and a lot of browsing on the internet.
There’s no short-cut. It helps, of course, if you have some prior knowledge and
an interest in the period in which the book is set. I believe you also have to love
that time in history. To use an over-used phrase, it must be a passion.
When writing While I Was Waiting, which is partly set
during World War 1, certain things resonated. A visit to a nearby stately home
set up an ‘experience room’ based around the time the three sons of the house
were fighting at the front. On the mantle-piece was a photograph. They were
posed in front of the house, sitting on their glossy horses, looking impossibly
glamorous and waiting for the hunt to begin. Horses and men both full of vigour
and energy. Four short years later all three brothers were dead, killed in
action, in service of their country. That photograph haunted me for a long time
and I included a similar experience in the book.

US RELEASE FOR LYNN SHEPHERD'S LITERARY MURDER MYSTERY, A FATAL LIKENESS - WIN A COPY!
(I used Grammarly to grammar check this post, because time spent proofreading could be time spent reading good books or writing new interesting pieces!)
On occasion of its release for the USA market, with a slightly different title and a totally new cover, here's a novel I had the pleasure to read and review a while ago, Lynn Shepherd's latest novel in the Charles Maddox literary murder series: A Fatal Likeness.
Here's how it is presented on amazon.com:
With The Solitary House, award-winning author Lynn Shepherd introduced readers to Charles Maddox, a brilliant private detective plying his trade on the gaslit streets of Dickensian London. Now, in this mesmerizing new novel of historical suspense, a mystery strikes disturbingly close to home—and draws Maddox into a world of literary legends, tormented souls, and a legacy of terrible secrets.
