UNUSUAL ROME

Back home in the middle of the morning. No, no , I'm OK. Only that after we started our lessons this morning, it became, little by little, like this outside!

We live near Rome, in the mountains, and it was even worse. So the Mayor decided it was better to leave our kids free to enjoy this rare beautiful snowy landscape and closed all schools!

  2. Maria, those pics are beautiful. I hope you are enjoying the beauty of this morning and have a soothing hot brew to keep you warm.
I live in the southern area of the states and it rarely snows but like your area our schools closed and we are home anticipating 4-6 inches, which is unheard of here as we usually receive 1/2 inch when it does snow which is close to never. I am looking out the window now and there is a few flakes but the radar promises a lot more.

  3. It's so strange to me that an entire city grinds to a halt because of a light sprinkling of snow... then again, I live in a place where winter lasts about 5 months! And it would never occur to anyone here to use an umbrella when it's snowing! :-)

These past 2 years, we received 5 metres of snow. Not in total — each year! This winter is VERY tame by comparison, I'm happy to say.

  4. Hi MG, We are on the same wavelength. I was going to post an entry about snow in Rome with some photos sent by a friend of mine! You've been quicker! I'm totally fed up with snow now, I've had enought for the next 20 years or so. Have a nice (and warm)weekend. Ciao. A

  5. Oh, this is so beautiful! I've never seen snow in my life! This is really unfair, I love winter and I have to bear this terrible summer! Some days ago it was hotter in my city than in the Sahara desert! And I'm not exagerating, it is the real statistic.

  6. Well we finally were blessed with inches and inches of snow and it is breathtaking. The kids and I played in it like we were in the land of Narnia!

  8. Send some of that snow to Canada! We could use much more for the Winter Olympics in Vancouver! We haven't got much here in central Canada yet either.
I just got back from a week in the sun on the caribbean island of St. Lucia so it was a bit of a shock to see snow again, but it didn't take me long to get used to it.
