Thanks for your interest and comment, Claudia!
Thanks a lot, @Alfie
Yep, my smile looks like an ... "Am I dreaming this" smile!
And, yes, that's the dress Kate Winslet was wearing as Marianne when Greg Wise carried her in his arms as Willoughby, her charming saviour after the infamous bad fall (S&S 1995). You got it!
@Traxy
I didn't say that to be in Nottingham wasn't exciting just that I was a bit disappointed by the Castle. But we didn't visit anything else in the little time we had. Just the centre (and we read and laughed and took pictures of some of the panels on the Robin Hood Trail there. And BTW, the Jamie Oliver restaurant is just in front of the panel which says: "Robin Hood meets and assassin. One Dangerous Guy")and the castle. We'll be back one day for some more shopping or, better, for the Robin Hood Festival. I really hope so. Thanks for your comment!Maria Graziahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08876779286144473782noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5114395886235179043.post-87069647944220488792011-07-28T13:29:02.790+02:002011-07-28T13:29:02.790+02:00Hah! So it's not just me who found Nottingham ...Hah! So it's not just me who found Nottingham Castle disappointing! ;) The Jamie Oliver restaurant I think opened up quite recently. Don't even know whereabouts in town it is, to be honest, but then we don't go into the city centre very often. Yes, it's a good town for shopping, but considering the huge amounts of history the city is steeped in, at least I'm left with a feeling of "where is it?" So we have a castle, but it's only ~150 years old or so. In places like York you get sightseeing buses! Nottingham? What's there to see? :(

Even the Major Oak is a bit meh, because it's all so nice and polite with the wide "road" you walk down to get to it. In Sweden, you'd more likely just have a narrow, natural trail inbetween the trees with the occasional marker to show you're headed in the right direction. Shame you didn't come here in a couple of weeks - there's the Robin Hood Festival in Sherwood Forest, with jousting and medieval market and things like that. :)

Sounds much more interesting to have visited Haworth and Chawton. But maybe I'm just home-blind?Traxyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13249884092846934427noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5114395886235179043.post-1914920094466292162011-07-28T11:41:24.792+02:002011-07-28T11:41:24.792+02:00Love your post.
