I saw it at least three times during it's first run, and did think it captured the book magnificently, which I read in high school and loved.

I'll more than likely give this one a shot--I think Carey Mulligan will make a great Daisy.JaneGShttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11094501834387622997noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5114395886235179043.post-17459676278891903142012-06-24T17:33:48.800+02:002012-06-24T17:33:48.800+02:00I have read The Great Gatsby and watched the film ...I have read The Great Gatsby and watched the film with Robert Redford and Mia Farrow.
I like the novel but in order to to refresh my memory I am going to reread it.
I am not sure I am going to like this Baz Luhrmann's version to be honest.
Judging from the trailer it is more his interpretation of a movie than the interpretation of a novel itself in my humble opinion.auroranoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5114395886235179043.post-34498303699907205692012-06-24T09:43:39.630+02:002012-06-24T09:43:39.630+02:00@suzan

We teachers usually read and deal with Scott Fitzgerald's novel with our oldest students who are 18-19 . I'm not sure I'll like this new movie. But first , as Kelsey suggests in her post here, better to re- read the book.
Thanks for your comment!Maria Graziahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08876779286144473782noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5114395886235179043.post-76422561519695702882012-06-24T06:27:06.500+02:002012-06-24T06:27:06.500+02:00No doubt this will be rated R. I watched the 1974 version a few times and unfortunately I can't recall the details. I only read part of the novel. I did however love the music and so I still have the old record.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
